Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
Last updated: October 8, 2026
- We collect only what we need to help your business, plus details businesses already publish.
- We never sell your information.
- Every email we send has a simple opt-out, and we honor it.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
01Who we are
UKUXHUMA (Pty) Ltd (“Ukuxhuma”, “we”, “us”), registration number 2026/767206/07, 7 Connor Ave, Westdene, Bloemfontein 9301, South Africa, is responsible for the personal information described here. Our information officer is Martin Slabbert, reachable at martin@ukuxhuma.com or +1 (512) 641-1825 (US) or +27 84 261 6304 (South Africa).
This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our emails and calls, and the services we provide to US businesses.
02What we collect
- What you give us: your name, business name, phone number, email, website address, and anything you write in a form, email or message.
- Public business information: details businesses publish themselves, such as Google Business Profile listings, websites, public reviews and listed contact details. We use these to find businesses we can help and to build free previews.
- Payment details: when you pay, PayPal shares a confirmation with us (such as your name, email, amount and transaction ID). We never receive or store your full card number.
- Calls: if you call us, we keep a record of the call (number, time and length). If a call is recorded or transcribed, we’ll tell you at the start of the call.
- Website usage: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, which our hosting provider logs to keep the website secure and working.
03How we use it
- To reply to you and provide what you asked for: previews, websites, fixes and support.
- To take payments, keep records and meet our legal and tax duties.
- To contact businesses about a specific, relevant improvement to their website (see “Business emails” below).
- To keep our website and services secure and to improve them.
We use your information because you’ve asked us to, because we need it to perform our agreement with you, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate business interest that doesn’t override your rights.
04Business emails and opting out
We sometimes email businesses whose contact details are publicly listed, about a specific problem we noticed on their website or a free preview we built. Every email we send:
- clearly says who it’s from and what it’s about, with an honest subject line;
- includes our postal address; and
- gives you a simple way to stop further emails.
If you opt out, we stop promptly, always within 10 business days, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act. We keep your email address on a “do not contact” list only so that we never email you again.
06Where your information goes
We’re based in South Africa and serve customers in the United States. Our service providers may store information in the United States, South Africa or other countries. When information moves between countries, we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected, as required by South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
07How long we keep it
- If you don’t go ahead with a free preview, we delete the preview and your details within 90 days, unless you ask us to keep them.
- For customers, we keep account, billing and payment records for as long as you’re a customer and then for 5 years, as tax and accounting laws require.
- Opt-out records are kept for as long as needed to honor your choice.
08Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies it needs to work. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this policy first.
09Keeping it safe
We protect your information with secure connections (HTTPS), access limited to people who need it, and trusted providers. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it if it’s wrong;
- delete it, unless we have to keep it by law;
- stop contacting you, or stop using it for a particular purpose.
California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), along with the right to know the categories of information we collect and why (described above). We don’t sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights. You can also use an authorized agent to make a request.
Under POPIA, you may also object to how we process your information and complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
To use any of these rights, email martin@ukuxhuma.com. We’ll confirm who you are and respond within 30 days. It’s free.
11Children
Our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
12Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
